Bíonn a fhios againn go bhfuil an samhradh ag teacht is Féile na Bealtaine ag druidim linn. Tá clár spleodrach ann arís i mbliana is treaslaímid leis an bhfoireann deonach a reáchtáileann é. Beidh an taispeántas camchuairte 30 Bliain – Ealaíontóir – Áit sa Ghailearaí i bPáirc Ghnó Ghaoth Dobhair ón Satharn 8ú Aibreán. Is taispeántas ilgnéitheach é seo a chéiliúrann 30 bhliain d’oifigí ealaíon ar fud na tire. Tógann sé ar chamchuairt áit, am agus ealaíona sinn le áilleacht, ábhar macnaimh agus greann. Beidh an oscailt oifigiúil ag 8in ar Satharn 8ú Aibreán agus leanfaidh an taispeántas ina dhiadh san. Tabharfaidh an file Cathal Ó Searcaigh caint dár teideal ‘Dúchas na hÁite’ ar an gCéadaoin 19ú Aibreán ag a 7in faoin dtógra Caiseal na gCorr – comhoibriú le Jan Voster – a bhfuil gné do mar chuid den dtaispeántas.
Beidh an dara cheardlann atá a reáchtáil ag Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne ar siúl ón Aoine go dtí’n Satharn seo 24-25 Márta i mBaile an Fheirtéaraigh sa Lárionad Gaeilge agus Gaeltachta. Ceardlann a thabharfaidh deis do rannpháirtithe taithí praiticiúil a fháil i mbun cumadh na nAgallamh Fileata. Is ceardlann do dhaoine fásta é seo.

An Cosán Glas – illuminated sculpture trail exhibition

An Cosán Glas’s illuminated sculpture-trail projects have being wowing huge audiences for the past 20 years. As part of a new departure, An Cosán Glas are pleased to announce a new and exciting sculpture project; one that is sure to be memorable; one that will mesmerise; and one that is deeply rooted in the community. Featuring eight local artists and seven teenagers from the locality, this new project will see the creation of a series of illuminated sculptures that will be exhibited in a factory unit on the Falcarragh Industrial estate.
The sculptures, as always, promise to be eye-catching and awe-inspiring. A number of illuminated sculptures will be placed at various locations around the village of Falcarragh as well – thus, adding a sprinkle of magic to the night-time festivities of the festival.

Scoil Acla is a week-long music and cultural summer school comprising of classes in Traditional Irish Music, Irish language classes – Achill dialect (Gaelig’ Acla), and Sean-Nós singing plus workshops in Sean nós dancing, Traditional Irish Dancing,and the ever popular and well attended Creative Writing as well as our Arts Courses.
Our traditional Irish music classes offer tuition on accordion, banjo,bodhrán, concertina, flute, fiddle, harp, tin whistle and uileann pipes with all levels being catered for. Practice and experience can be obtained in one of the many ‘sessions’ held around Achill Island throughout this Irish music festival.
